A few images from Staged In Kuwait’s Vocal Rhapsody’s glee-esque production “SING!” Major kudos to all the performers for a wonderful & fun-filled experience, and 2 thumbs up to LIVE Theater for the fantastic venue! Can’t wait for next year’s show, guys! Maybe we’ll even join you guys on stage– you never know!
We had the pleasure of attending the Cirque De Glace show yesterday afternoon, and we must say it was truly a FUN, beautiful and creative show (we especially LOVED the 2nd half)! The production was a melting pot of theater, music, dancing and acrobatics– with each routine being “earth” themed. As their website says:
“Cirque de Glace brings to life the story of the creation of our planet, man’s evolution and a journey to the limits of technology as a stunning ice spectacular.”
The show will be running until February 9th, with 2 shows per day, so be sure to catch it before it leaves town. It’s a spectacular experience, and truly LOADS of fun for the whole family. Kudos to the Russian Ice Stars & the organizing team for bringing this wonderful show to Kuwait!

The last week of term at The British Academy of International Arts (BAIA) saw the much anticipated return of Italian dancer and choreographer Gabriele Montaruli. His third year in Kuwait at BAIA and everyone including staff and parents were very excited to have him back to see what new skills he would bring to teach the students in contemporary dance. A fantastic 12 hour workshop ranging from technique classes that included a wide variety of different dance styles (ballet, contemporary and modern dance) and introduced new innovative material such as using the floor and each other for supports and lifts was followed by a stunning performance for family and friends. Students from 6 years of age through to adult experienced the opportunity to use improvisation and imagination to create material- letting them set movements in the space. Collaborating with them this closely brought a sense of equality between the students and Gabriele, a beautiful working relationship.
KUWAIT, Jan 7 (KUNA) — Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Sabah on Monday opened the 19th session of Al-Qurain Cultural Festival. The annual event is organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) under auspices of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. “The State of Kuwait works hard to promote enlightened thought, open-up to the outside world, and the friendly exchanges with nations with different cultures, notably the Arab and Muslim nations,” the minister pointed out. “Our approach to cultural openness is inspired by the instructions of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and translates his call for strengthening the true role of culture in the dialogue among civilizations,” he affirmed. The values of the dialogue among civilizations have become a strategic option that could open new horizons for building a new world featured by progress, nobleness, tolerance, justice, peace and coexistence, he noted. Over the last half a century Kuwait has been publishing a range of cultural publications which turned to be references for Arab readers, he said, noting that the Arab nation is at a crucial cross roads brought about by the cultural globalization. Meanwhile, he called on the intelligentsia to pay attention to the issues of the youth, foster the skills of the talented youth and double efforts to ward off the dangers of alien cultural trends.
The minister congratulated the winners of the state awards for cultural and artistic creativity wishing them more successes in the future.
