WASHINGTON, April 16 (KUNA) — All Kuwaiti students in Boston are safe and none of them have been hurt in the deadly explosions, the Kuwaiti Embassy in the US capital affirmed. The diplomatic mission is continuously following up on condition of the Kuwaiti students and other citizens in the City of Boston, following the explosions that rocked it, reportedly leaving at least three people dead and more than 100 others wounded, the embassy said in a statement. The embassy inquired about condition of all Kuwaiti students and nationals in Boston, the statement added. The embassy added that while it continues to hold contacts with the students and the nationals in the city, it also calls for “prudence, maintaining contact with it, and apprising the mission of any emergency that may develop.” The embassy receives emergency calls on the following telephone number: +1-202-262-0758.

In case you were unable to witness Kuwait’s first-ever base jumps (Skyfall 414) LIVE & in full color, no worries! Here is a video shot by the “Douggs” himself, most likely from a GoPro cam. The video shows both base jumps, and from what we can tell, he seemed to have had an UNBELIEVABLE time doing them!

“The raw hand cam and head cam from the first ever base jumps in Kuwait. the exit point was very bad and unstable so i kicked like a bitch and i got a big booga on the camera and on my face on opening. But the one handed landing made up for the other clumsy stuff. More to come in the Middle East….Game on

Culture, Arts Backbone of Any Society – NCCAL Chief
KUWAIT, March 13 (KUNA) — Culture and arts are vital elements to the development of any nation, Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) Ali Al-Youha stressed said. He emphasized the importance of inducing cultural activities as part of the educational process. “Man is the backbone of any society. To build a society, there is a need to build a better man by providing three vital elements: media, education and culture.” Government, private sector and investors should all participate in a movement ot elevate cultural activities in the country by providing the necessary infrastructure and the needed resources, he added.
Meanwhile, the National Youth Project (NYP) council member said that Kuwait has proved, throughout history, which it has many strong points in arts and culture, especially, since the country’s constitution nurtures and encourages creativity and innovation in all scientific and literary realms.

Sheikha Fareeha Lauds Achievements of Kuwaiti Shooters
KUWAIT, March 6 (KUNA) — Sheikha Fareeha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, chairperson of Kuwait ideal family association, on Wednesday commended the achievements made by Kuwait male and female shooters during the recent local and regional championships.
Speaking to reporters here, Sheikha Fareeha, also chairperson of Kuwaiti females sporting club, said the Kuwaiti female shooters have had high profile in the just ended Arab championship and His Highness the Amir’s championship. She made the remarks after medal giving ceremony of the Arab championship held at Sabah Al-Ahmed Olympic Shooting Range here. She welcomed the participants in the games, appreciating the efforts made by the organizers of the event.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, deputy chairman of the Bahraini shooting federation, hailed the impressive success of championship and the efforts of the higher organizing committee. Kuwaiti female shooter Sarah Al-Hwal voiced great joy for winning the gold medal of the women trap competition. She dedicated, in statements to KUNA, the medal to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who sponsors sports in Kuwait.
Kuwait’s Al-Arabi Defeats Saudi Al-Nassr, Qualifies To Semi-Final of UAFA
Cup KUWAIT, Feb 27 (KUNA) — Kuwait’s Al-Arabi football team have qualified to the semifinal of the Union of Arab Football Associations’ (UAFA) Cup championship, after defeating Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr football team here on Wednesday 2-0 in their match at Sabah Al-Salem stadium. Al-Arabi started the first half by attacking the rivals, and was able to score the first goal at minute 38 by attacker Fahad Al-Rashidi, who scored the goal with his head from a high pass by his mate Abduqader Fal, a Senegalese professional. In the second half, Al-Arabi continued to attack until they scored the second goal through attacker Hussain Al-Mosawi at minute 49 by capitalizing on a mistake by Al-Nassr’s defensive line and shooting the ball in the goal. Al-Nasser team tried to come back during the match and was desperate to compensate for Al-Arabi’s two goals.
