The name of this market is derived from the Arabic word qout, which literally translates to food. More importantly, Qout Market is a community-based market that aims to help and support local/regional farmers/artisans and serve as an educational tool. There will be over 15 street food concepts featuring local culinary superstars ranging from oven fired pizzas, tacos, Greek specialties, hand crafted coffee to oven-fresh bread. In addition, there will be a over 80 stalls offering a selection of fresh local produce and flowers, food items like fresh bread, cheese, honey, jams, pickles and specialty food items like paleo and gluten-free. There will also be a section for artisanal craft vendors and artists who will sell a variety of products, including soaps, pure essential oils, hand-carved candles and market art. Event-goers can also learn how to grow their own produce and buy the hydroponic systems they need or even buy a street bike! To cultivate this community atmosphere, a communal seating area is set up next to the street food vendors to encourage discussions and interactions between the market goers. This initiative, ultimately, helps to support local food producers and encourage people to eat local, seasonal fresh food.
