PLOT SUMMARY
Matthew is a 12 year old expat who’s just moved to Kuwait with his single mother, whose just been hired for a post at an American Army Base. One night, after his mother leaves him alone for the first time, he escapes to track her down. Instead, he quickly crosses paths with Dalal, a teenage Kuwaiti girl who lives next door. Fearing a second abandonment, Matthew convinces her to help him find his mother. What Matthew doesn’t know is that Dalal needs more help than he and that the only way to combat his own feelings of alienation is to stop depending on the care of others. Having descended far into the depths of the Kuwaiti desert, Matthew must fend off some threatening characters and return the two of them safely home.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS FOR ROLES TO BE CAST
Dalal: A 19-21 year old Kuwaiti girl whose dark but youthful features betray her attempts at appearing much older than she is. Preferably casting someone of Kuwaiti or Gulf descent, but open to all Arab nationals. Firm grasp of English and Arabic.
Matthew: A 12 year old expat who has just relocated to Kuwait with his single mother. He comes off as more mature in conversation. Though, he has a frail frame and this also manifests itself in his goofy physicality and clumsiness. Caucasian features with firm grasp of English with an American accent.
Also looking for American Males and Females age 25-35 for supporting roles. Contact director for more details.
