Staged In Kuwait (SIK), a community theater group committed to bringing quality productions to venues around Kuwait, is about to launch into auditions for a spectacular Christmas panto, “Jack and the Beanstalk.” It’s their favourite time of the year (Oh Yes It Is!) as they bring the magic of live theatre front and centre for the whole family. Audition dates are Wednesday October 24th at 7pm & Saturday October 27th at 2pm. Auditions will be held at the SIK Studio located in Fintas, Block 4, Street 1, Villa 74. They are casting for the following characters:

GRISTLE: The Giant’s Henchman. The baddy of the piece. (Male)

FAIRY CAKES: Jack’s Guardian – a good fairy. (Female)

SIMPLE SIMON: Jack’s rather simple brother. Comic. (Male)

MAYOR MUGGLE: Father to Jill and the town Mayor (Male)

JACK DRIBBLE: The hero of the piece (Female or Male)

DAME DRIBBLE: Jack and Simon’s mother (Male – Traditional Panto Dame)

DAISY: The Durden’s faithful cow (2 actors required – front and back!)

JILL MUGGLE: Daughter of the Mayor and love interest of Jack (Female)

GIANT MONEYBAGS: The evil Giant terrorizing the land (Male)

FIONA FRECKLES: Mayor Muggle’s neice, a quirky girl with a beautiful singing voice. Love interest of Simon. (Female)

VILLAGERS: An all singing, all dancing village crew (8 – 10 members –  male and female)

CHILDREN: A small childrens chorus of 6 – 8. (8+ years only)

This year, Panto Kuwait will be staged at the wonderfully refurbished Performing Arts Centre Theatre in The English School, Salmiya. The venue seats 450 people and promises to house an electric atmosphere for all the traditional pantomime fun and Christmas nonsense!
